Fletcher Lodge Sustainable Tourism Statement. Ewa, Keith, Peter and all the staff at Fletcher Lodge recognise the significant impact that an establishment like ours can have on the environment.

We are all aware the positions we hold can cause either positive or negative effects on our surroundings quite often it a simple matter of choice. It has been clear to us for a long time that hitherto socially acceptable habits are causing irreparable damage to the Earths fragile environment.

Spurred on therefore by the Qualmark initiative we have as a whole determined to make significant improvements in many areas, collectively known as our carbon footprint.
These areas include

o  Recycling
  o Wastage
o Resource consumption Electricity gas water and oils
o Environmental impact direct and indirect

In assuming our currents efforts to be at ground zero it is our wish to achieve the following results.

Recycling - To professionalise our existing efforts and make recycling a standard part of everyday living and not an afterthought or chore Wastage

to reduce by 50% over the next 2 years our direct waste. Resource consumption – to reduce by at least 25% our overall consumption of resources.

Environmental impact – Difficult to quantify but determine to follow best practice methodology seeking to reduce our carbon footprint wherever possible. All in the light of developing knowledge.

As a practical application of this mission statement we have prepared a detailed outline manual and kept as many written records as practical.
